Annie

Annie is an international literacy consultant who partners with schools and districts to strengthen literacy instruction across all grades. She works closely with school and district leaders to analyze data, craft responsive instructional plans, and design coherent systems of practice that support teacher development and improve student learning. Through hands-on, practical professional development, Annie helps educators translate vision into action.

Trained in the Science of Reading and experienced in evidence-based literacy instruction, she collaborates with teachers and leaders on curriculum writing and the development of sustainable literacy systems. From her years of teaching in Hawaii and New York, and her years of coaching, including over a decade at the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, Annie brings a practical, classroom-centered lens to curriculum design, coaching, and school-wide implementation. 

Annie holds a BA from Duke University, an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a microcredential in the Science of Reading from SUNY New Paltz. She is the co-author of The Research-Based Argument Essay, Grade 5 and The Art of Argument: Research-Based Essays, Grade 7 for the Units of Study in Opinion, Information, and Narrative Writing.

Committed to the belief that all children deserve excellent schools, Annie supports communities in building actionable, school-wide plans for change that educators can implement immediately.
